CHAD WILSON December 6, 1954 – January 21, 2020
This message is from Sal Figueroa
It is with heartfelt sadness that I inform you of the passing of Chad Wilson, my good dear friend, fellow OCFOA official, that I have served with for over 30 years. He passed peacefully today 1/21/2020 at 6:00 pm. The WILSON Family has plans in work for a celebration of life gathering and will let everyone know the date and place when it is finalized. Respectfully Sal Figueroa

I hope all of you got a chance to watch Chris Coyte and Jim Wharrie work the NCAA Championship Game. I thought the officiating in the game was outstanding and Chris did a great job in the pregame, reporting fouls and replay explanations.
OCFOA’s very own Andrew Lambert will be working Replay on this Sunday’s game when the San Francisco 49’ers host the Green Bay Packers. Andrew worked two weeks ago when the New England Patriots played the Tennessee Titans. Congratulations to Andrew on earning two post-season game assignments.
OCFOA alumnus Bill Vinovich will be the Referee for Super Bowl LIV. This is Bill’s 2nd Super Bowl, he was also the Referee for the 2015 Super Bowl.
Contact Jeff Roberts for an application firstname.lastname@example.org
We are actively looking for members who are interested in serving as varsity referees, either as full-time crew chiefs or as gray hats who work with mixed crews and/or fill in for crew chiefs. Even if you were a gray hat last year, you MUST reapply this year to be considered for varsity referee assignments. At this point in time, there are no crew chief openings in 2020.
You must contact Bob Yoakum by email email@example.com to request an application. The deadline to submit applications is 5:00 p.m. February 10, 2020

All high schools should have paid all officials for games playing in 2019 by now.
If you have not been paid for a high school football game played in 2019, contact the athletic director of the home school. If there is an issue, contact me ASAP. We need to close out the 2019 season on Arbiter.

The 2020 season starts NOW! Here are a few highlights.
1) If you are not on a crew, it’s up to you to reach out to crew chiefs that you would like to work with. You may feel more comfortable to have one of the crew members put in a good word for you if you do not know the crew chief.
2) If you do not want to be on your current crew, notify Jeff Roberts that you no longer wish to be on your current crew. He will keep track until the new Vice-President is confirmed. It would be greatly appreciated if you copy me on your email. This is also for crew chief removing current crew members.
3) The process for an updated list for our website will be determined at the next board meeting on January 29.
2020 Varsity Referee Assignments
Those who are interested in referee assignments on varsity games as a crew chief or gray hat are to notify Jeff Roberts. Please state which type(s) you would like to be considered.
Rehab starts now. Don’t let stuff linger. We want you feeling great by the start of the 2020 season.
Questions About the 2019 Season?
It’s best to answer questions regarding the 2019 now instead of waiting for the start of next season. Feel free to contact a board member or me if applicable. A list of board members is on the ocfoa.org website.
