Assignors Notes

This was sent to all Orange County high school football contacts and tackle football officials from Paul Caldera, Tackle Assignor of the Orange County Football Officials Association.

All
– Unacceptable conduct by coaches, players, staff or fans after a game can still result with a post-game ejection. We want everyone to keep cooler heads.
– Officials are to be professional toward players, coaches, staff, chain crew and timers. It goes both ways!
– Only 4 fouls have an automatic first down: Roughing the 1) passer, 2) kicker, 3) holder and 4) snapper.
– Fouls by receivers on successful field goal options: 1) Keep the points & enforce at succeeding spot or 2) Replay the down after enforcing the penalty.
– Fouls during a touchdown if no change of possession: 1) Enforce on the try or 2) enforce on the subsequent kickoff.

Schools
– It’s important that you accept changes on Arbiter in order to see the update on your end. It will avoid confusion. Contact me with questions on how to accept changes.
– Announcers are not to be giving play by play commentary during the game. It is similar to when the band can play.

Officials
– Continue to keep your availability/blocks up to date on Arbiter. We are barely getting through each week covering games. This will also help avoid possible turn back fees.
– Keep in mind your afternoon game time could change due to the heat. We will try to give you as much notice as possible but it’s still up to the schools to notify us of any changes.
Please don’t park in the handicap spaces. If you are that immobile, don’t work.
